Ali Tekbaş is a Kurdish musician dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting traditional Kurdish music, with a particular focus on dengbêj,the ancient Kurdish storytelling tradition. Traveling through Kurdish villages, he has collected and documented numerous folk songs, ensuring that these musical narratives continue to thrive. His work balances preservation with reinterpretation, bringing the rich heritage of Kurdish music to contemporary audiences.
In 2012, he released his album Seliqe under Kalan Müzik, reflecting his deep commitment to Kurdish musical traditions. As a member of Lawje, he works to bridge the gap between the past and present, keeping oral traditions alive.
Beyond music, Tekbaş has contributed to theatrical productions rooted in Kurdish storytelling.
